The dean of the School of Computer Science and a founding member of the school's Human-Computer Interaction Institute recently received the highest distinction available to faculty at Carnegie Mellon University.
Martial Hebert, dean of the School of Computer Science (SCS) and a professor in the Robotics Institute, and Robert Kraut, the Herbert A. Simon Professor Emeritus of Human-Computer Interaction in SCS and Tepper School of Business were among the three faculty members elevated to the rank of University Professor. John Hooker, a professor of operations research at Tepper and the T. Jerome Holleran Professor of Business Ethics and Social Responsibility at CMU, was the third faculty member.
